Compounded tirzepatide is a once-daily tablet used to support weight loss. Your provider decides if it is right for you and sets your dose.
What it is
Tirzepatide acts like hormones that help manage appetite and blood sugar. The tablet dissolves between your gum and cheek. You do not swallow it whole.
This medication is compounded. Compounded medications are not reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety or effectiveness. Results vary.
How to take it
Always follow your prescription label.
- Take the tablet when you wake up, before eating or drinking anything.
- Place it between your gum and cheek.
- Let it dissolve completely. Do not chew it, swallow it whole, split it, or move it with your tongue.
- Wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything, brushing your teeth, chewing gum, or using mints.
- Wait about one hour before intense exercise.
Take it at the same time each day. If you miss a dose and remember on the same day, you can still take it. If you only remember the next day, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual schedule. Do not take two doses to make up for one missed dose. See What should I do if I miss a dose?.
Your provider decides every dose or medication change. Ask through the chat in the SkinnyRx app if you have questions. Do not take tirzepatide tablets together with another weight-loss medication. If you are switching treatments, follow your provider’s instructions.

Store the tablets at room temperature. Keep them away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight. They do not need refrigeration. See How do I store my medication?.
