Compounded semaglutide tablets are a once-daily GLP-1 medication that may support weight loss. Your provider decides if this treatment is right for you and sets your dose.
What it is
The tablet contains semaglutide and dissolves between your gum and cheek. It is a needle-free, standalone treatment used with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
If you use injectable semaglutide, contact your provider through the chat in the SkinnyRx app before starting the tablets. Your provider decides whether you should change medications.
Compounded semaglutide is not reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety or effectiveness. It is not FDA-approved for weight loss.
How to take it
Take your medication once daily. Always follow your prescription label.
- Take the tablet when you wake up, before eating or drinking anything.
- Place it between your gum and cheek.
- Let it dissolve completely. Do not chew it, swallow it whole, split it, or move it with your tongue.
- Do not drink anything or brush your teeth while it dissolves.
- Wait at least 30 minutes after taking it before eating or drinking anything, including water.
- Avoid chewing gum, using mints, or brushing your teeth after taking the tablet. These may interfere with absorption.
- Wait about one hour before intense exercise.
- Take it at the same time each day.
If you miss a dose and remember on the same day, you can still take it. If you only remember the next day, skip the missed dose and go back to your usual schedule. Do not take two doses to make up for one missed dose. See What should I do if I miss a dose?.
Ask your provider about dose or medication changes through the chat in the SkinnyRx app. Do not change your dose on your own.
Storage
The tablets do not need refrigeration. Store them as directed on the label and packaging, away from heat and moisture. You can keep them somewhere visible, such as your nightstand, to help you remember your daily medication.
