Injectable sermorelin is a compounded peptide medication. It is designed to support your body’s own growth hormone production, sleep quality, recovery, and lean muscle retention.
What it is
Sermorelin is a growth hormone-releasing hormone, or GHRH, analog. It signals your pituitary gland to release your body’s own growth hormone.
Your provider may prescribe sermorelin on its own or with a GLP-1 medication. When used with a GLP-1, it is designed to support lean muscle retention, sleep quality, and recovery. Individual results vary.
How to take it
Sermorelin is a self-injection taken at night. Follow the dose and schedule printed on your prescription label. Your provider decides your dose and any medication changes.
Take it on an empty stomach, about 90 minutes after eating. For general injection steps, see How do I take my injection?.
Check the label on every new vial. The concentration may change between refills. This means the number of units may also change. If the label is unclear, damaged, or seems inconsistent, do not inject. Contact your provider through the chat in the SkinnyRx app to confirm your instructions. See How do I read my dose in units?.
Storage
Keep sermorelin refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F. Do not freeze it. It may be at room temperature briefly while you prepare and give your injection. Return it to the refrigerator soon afterward.
Follow the beyond-use date printed on the vial. If you plan to start after that date, contact your care team before using it. For more information, see How do I store my medication?.
Common side effects
Ask your care team what side effects may occur and what to expect before you start. If you feel unwell or notice a new symptom after an injection, message your provider through the chat in the SkinnyRx app.
When to contact your care team
Contact your care team if:
- You have side effects or feel unwell after an injection.
- Your prescription label is unclear, damaged, or seems inconsistent.
- You have questions about your dose or injection schedule.
- You currently use another growth hormone or GHRH product. Your provider must review this.
Do not change your dose or schedule on your own. Ask your provider through the chat in the SkinnyRx app.
