Your prescribed dose in units is printed on your prescription label. Use that number to find the matching unit mark on your syringe.
Read and match your dose
- Find the prescribed number of units on your prescription label.
- Check the label each time you receive a new vial. Your prescribed units can change from one vial to the next.
- Look at the unit markings printed along the side of your syringe.
- Draw the medication to the syringe marking that matches the number of units on your label.
- Before injecting, check that the syringe and prescription label show the same number of units.
Do not calculate your dose from milligrams or use a dose from an older vial. Always follow the units printed on your current prescription label.
If the label is unclear, damaged, or missing, do not inject. If the syringe markings do not match what you expect, do not inject. Ask your care team to confirm your dose through the chat in the SkinnyRx app. Your provider must decide any dose changes.
