Microdosing is a clinician-guided GLP-1 treatment that uses a conservative, lower-dose approach. It is designed for people seeking modest weight loss or a gentler treatment plan.
How microdosing works
GLP-1 medications help regulate appetite. With microdosing, your provider creates a plan based on your goals, health, and how your body responds. The dose may be increased more slowly than with a standard treatment plan.
Microdosing may be considered if you:
- Want to lose a modest amount of weight
- Are near your personal or metabolic goal weight
- Prefer a lower-intensity approach
- Have had concerns about tolerating higher doses
- Are moving down from higher-dose treatment
Microdosing may be available as a weekly injection or as tablets, depending on what your provider prescribes.
Is microdosing right for you?
A licensed provider must review your intake and decide if treatment is appropriate. Eligibility depends on factors such as your BMI, health history, current medications, and treatment goals.
Do not change your dose on your own. If you want to discuss microdosing or another dose change, use the chat in the SkinnyRx app to ask your provider. See Can I change my dose? and How do I message my provider?.
Results vary, and a lower-dose plan does not guarantee a specific amount of weight loss.
