Yes. You can ask to switch to a different medication. Your provider will review your request and decide whether the switch is appropriate for you.
How to request a switch
- Open the chat in the SkinnyRx app. See Where is the chat in my app? if you need help finding it.
- Tell the support team that you want to switch medications.
- Be ready to share:
- Your current medication and prescribed dose
- When you last took it
- How long you have taken it
- Why you want to switch
- Any side effects you are having
- If your most recent medication came from another provider, you will need to send proof through the app chat. Send a photo of your prescription or an empty medication bottle. It must show your name, medication name, prescribed dose, dosing instructions, and the date prescribed.
- Your provider will review your treatment history. They will decide whether the requested treatment is appropriate and what starting dose to prescribe.
